Service One Transportation Commemorates Two Decades in Business as a Leading Provider of Truckload/Logistics Services and CDL Trucking Careers
PLYMOUTH, Wis., Oct. 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Service One Transportation, a leading Wisconsin trucking and logistics company, is proud to announce a new milestone: 20 years in business. To commemorate the occasion, the Plymouth-based trucking company located between Green Bay and Milwaukee will be hosting a 20th anniversary celebration at its annual driver appreciation lunch and open house this weekend.
Founded by Dan Flagstad, Sr., in June 1997 with a single truck, the company now has 40 tractor-trailers and has grown to encompass 55 employees and truck drivers. Today, Service One provides trucking services throughout the 48 contiguous United States and parts of Canada, and remains a family-owned business. Dan Flagstad, Jr., serves as President of Service One Transportation and operates the company in partnership with his father’s long-time friend and colleague, Mike Myszewski, who serves as Vice President of Operations and Logistics.
“It’s incredible how quickly the last two decades have flown by. I think my father would be very proud of the progress Service One has made since he started the operation back in 1997,” said Flagstad. “It was always his goal to create a family-oriented company where the employees have a voice in the direction of the business. Mike and I have worked hard to carry on his legacy, which in turn has helped us develop a loyal customer base and an outstanding group of dedicated employees. I look forward to seeing where the next 20 years will take us!”
Service One’s 20th anniversary festivities will take place during the company’s 4th Annual Driver Appreciation Lunch and Open House on Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is open to all Service One employees, drivers and their families, as well as anyone with a commercial driver’s license (CDL) who would like to learn more about available truck driving jobs. Guests will be treated to a lunch buffet featuring pulled pork sandwiches, beer, soft drinks and other items, and prize raffles will be held throughout the day. Service One will also have its newest equipment on display, including two 2018 Kenworth T680 trucks.
“This annual event gives us an opportunity to thank all of the people who have made Service One the leading trucking company in Wisconsin. On this special anniversary, I’d also like to recognize two original employees who have been with us since the beginning. Our office manager, Diane Mueller, and our first driver, Tim Schiesel, will be celebrating 20 years with Service One—and I couldn’t be more honored and grateful to call them part of the family,” said Flagstad.
“When Dan Sr. asked me to join him on his new business venture, I was very proud to be a part of it,” said Mueller. “I’ve always been treated like family here. The owners, drivers and employees are all hard-working individuals and a great pleasure to talk with. I can honestly say I’ve never had another job where I enjoy coming to work as much as I do at Service One. It’s been a great 20 years!”
Schiesel expressed similar career satisfaction: “These past 20 years at Service One have been quite an adventure. We have a lot of great people here, and many of them have become good friends over the years. My colleagues at Service One really have become my second family.”
